2a gearbox to series3 engine

Hi, Have a series3 engine (2.25)that I am going to use while original is being rebuilt. Is it ok to use 2a gearbox on series 3 style clutch as I don't want to swap original old style clutch pressure plate unless I have to. Thanks

I don't really know but...
Don't see why not as long as the pinion gear fits the clutch centre and flywheel.

I have the s3 clutch pressure plate on my 2a V8 and a s2a box and it works fine

im sure its a straight fit and swap as mine has a series 2 gearbox on a diesel 10j engine (think its series 3) and it works fine appart from no syncro in 1st and 2nd

JC's is an all inclusive super multi model version, only found in the back yards of landy obsessed mancs

helps if the iva shows its a series 2 according to the points scheme but has had a series 3 shell fitted ( its the arse end result of having its identity and distinguishing features nicked to make a series 3 look like a tax exempt series 2 )

im still waiting for the dvla and vosa to do their thing all they have told me is its deffinately a series 2 but the bodywork is series 3 ish

series 2 bits include chassis axles transfer box gearbox rear tub roof and bonnet

series 3 bits include front grille pannel wings bulkhead dash seatbox and doors

funnily enough the points scheme is leaning towards it being series 2 wich im waiting for the grand desicion from the dvla over this little matter

meanwhile ive got a verry smokey 10j diesel engine to twot some sense into :smokin::smokin::smokin:

j c got to say it mate but a manc with a bitsa how honnest is that. The DVLA are only taking there time because no one trusts a manc

ive played my part with it mate and passed on the info they wanted when vosa payed me a visit askin fer the ebay transaction print off sheets adress of where i picked it up from etc etc

all i can do is wait till they either give me an id for the old girl or try and take it to the crusher ( wich with me being a manc itll vanish be stripped and spread across the 4 corners of landyzone as parts before i start with ebay ) and the chassis will be chopped to lil tiny pieces and weighed in at davidsons put straight into the crusher never to be heared of again

then ill buy a landy with a fookin id and start again hard lesson learned
