Since finding out my preferred BFG AT KO2s are not available in 255/65/16 :( I am looking at options.

I want something which performs well on the road (for AT tyre) but with strength and durability for some rougher stuff as and when needed. I thought a poll might be worth a shot...

Interesting, thanks. Very road biassed but I bet they run lovely. Going to read up on them even though I think I want something a bit tougher against pot holes, rocks etc. nice price too

Having a bloody nightmare finding anything which comes out good in reviews for my desired characteristics, but which IS frigging available in 255/65/16!!!

Cooper Discoverer and Goodyear Wrangler AT Adventure seem both bloody good choices, and an hour later, not available in my size! Getting depressing now!

In case anyone knows, General Grabber AT2 v AT3 - is there a big difference, or is it just an age/model name change?

This was excellent reading, except depressing when all the best picks which appealed to me are unavailable for 8J Disco2!

PS What I am basically looking for is an AT tyre which is leaning more towards tarmac performance than off road performance, but not enough to warrant a road tyre.

Sidewall strength is one of the most important things I am after and sadly everything I have read suggests the tyre I was settled on (Gen Grabber, AT something, not sure which) has a very weak sidewall from what i have seen. (puncture tests and rated strengths etc)

If you'll not be able to decide go to a wheelwright and order some of these at what ever "profile" you want :D

hahahaha. No need. I know the exact specs of those badgers..... 255/55/18 :D

Its not so much about deciding now, it's about finding any fecken thing which is a half decent AT tyre in 255/65/16! Dinner done, back to the digging. I have given myself one hour, if no luck then I am gonna give up on wheels and look for skids instead.

PS I really am surprised how few there are for that size. Shame on BFG, and good year wrangler!

Yep, I was half assuming it was ozzies and people with very different uses. that seals it, RonSeal. :D
NOW THEN RONSEAL - How about you reply to your "for sale" thread ;) !!
