Should have made it a bit clearer. I have a series 1 fitted with duff 2.25 Ltr engine and have been offered at very good price, move it or it goes in the skip, a 2.25 ltr ex mod 24 V engine that was running until 6 months ago, then taken out for a desiel conversion. This engine is complete inc alternator starter and oil cooler. I have two options convert the series 1 to 24V or the engine to 12V. converting the engine to 12v seems the easist.

just stick yu 12v alternator and starter motor on to the 24volt lump. job done.
yu might need to change the points and condensor an all.
