Can I fit a 24 spline diff and shafts into my 10 spline axle casing and hubs?
Killed another rear diff but can't find a good 10 spline to replace it with.

Have discovered this evening that the shafts don't fit, as they have a bearing face near the outer end.
Looking at it I would imagine the stub axles are different.

The stub axles are different between a 24 and 10 spline axle

Ah that'll be why then, can I fit 24 spline stubs with 10 spline hubs? Mine have new bearings so don't wanna replace them!

I now have a complete 24 spline axle, gonna swap hubs etc over later.
Decided after struggling to find good 10 spline bits that it was time to move to a 24 spline!

Not a bad shout

Make sure the drive members are not worn out

I have some available :p

It's not a bad idea at all to run RTC3511 hub seal inner and remove stub axle seal, increases bearing lubrication 10 fold and saves your drive flanges/outer cv splines from dry fret of death.

Good luck :)

The shafts I have got have integral drive flanges?
I do now have 4 hubs 4 shafts and 2 good stubs for a 10 spline going spare if your interested?

Well you see, you OP'd about a rear axle but then started talking about the front shafts that have the internal bush so I assumed we were talking about front axles now.

Anyway same applies regards hub seals and halfshaft seals.

I don't need any axle parts but thanks for the shout.

Hang on

If you have 4 hubs you must have switched front aswell which means different cvs, so you must run drive flanges up front.

Have you changed the cvs? 10 spline disco type is not suitable.

Nope I have 4 rear hubs and shafts! Fronts still 10 spline.
I confused the bit the seal runs on as a bearing seat.
