22" wheels gone, 18" hurricane wheels on

Oh my god what a difference, can't believe anyone would put 22" wheels on a P38, drive it, then leave them on, every aspect of driving the car is better but most of all, performance and fuel economy are transformed, 16mpg is now nearer 28' incredible

Anyone with 22" wheels should be castrated so they carnt reproduce

Can't see why the wheels would affect the fuel consumption unless the rolling radius was different causing the computer to calculate incorrectly.
the only accurate way to check consumption is to reset the trip and brim the tank, next time you brim it you have the mileage on the trip so it's simple arithmetic to work out the real mpg.

I wasn't going by the computer but the tyres were 295's, to be honest the acceleration was rubbish, I had to plant the throttle to pull away from stand still, and had to keep it floored to get up to any reasonable speed, I thought it had a fault but now with the 18's it's loads better, not quick but acceptable

If you are looking at doing a "Brim to Brim" calculation which comprises of miles divided by fuel used, considering that the larger rolling radius will create an error in the true mileage recorded compared to the "Standard wheels" (The P38 was never designed to run on 20 or 22's as original equipment...it's a Pimp thing in my opinion !) it is difficult to get a true & accurate figure.
There is no way that the increased wheel size, over standard 16"/18" can be programmed into the P38 electronic system in order to adjust the fuel consumption figure on the dash display relatively.

Nah, not really !! Perhaps I may be proven wrong if we get a crappy winter :rolly:
Still keep popping in to the forum now & again to see what's happening and have discovered the same old problems being posted on virtually a daily basis relating to EAS, LPG which have been done to death over the years..Get's a bit boring after a bit !!
Nevertheless, still gives me a bit of an insight into the "Old School" and what's going on.
