Sport 2012 RRS getting repairs done this week - does this pricing sound fair?

The car still has the original air compressor installed and I'm having issues putting it into access mode. Have been quoted £682 + vat for a replacement compressor and air pipes.

Car is also not the best when going around corners and bumps. Was told that the front suspension arms and front anti-roll bar bushes: £854 + vat - I've been warned that the hours of labour can vary here as the anti-roll bar bolts can be quite difficult to remove.

Rear upper arm, hub bush: £340 + vat

4 Wheel alignment = £65 + vat

The total would be £1941 + vat (this is also including labour)

Does this sound fair?

Sounds about 30% more than the price it should be, and about 3 times the price I could do it DIY.

Are they using LR boxed parts? Or aftermarket?
If using LR boxed parts, ask for OE parts instead, as the expensive packaging goes in the bin anyway.

The front wishbones are about £350 inc vat a pair for OE parts, including the bolts, and about an hour per side to fit for an equipped workshop.

Rear upper arms should be replaced in pairs, where you should be paying about £350 inc vat for 2 arms and bolts kits, with another £35 for the upper bearing, plus fitting.

The ARB bushes are cheap as chips, about £15 a pair for OE rubber, or about £10 for polyurethane replacements. Fitting them isn't that difficult, it shouldn't be more than 30 minutes work, especially if the wishbones are out the way.

The EAS compressor kit is expensive at about £400 inc vat for an aftermarket kit, and £575 inc vat for the AMK kit, obviously not included installation.

Oddly the price of the 4 wheel alignment is very reasonable.

I am currently trying to get parts for my full fat. Normally I would just search through google and prices would come up.
The reason I am telling uou is because it is easy to see if prices are fair. Ask then which brand they use, then do a search. Also ask how much labour is ph. Then phone around and compare.
If you are worried they are ripping you off, before they have even started, take your vehicle back and find a garage you trust

ARB bushes are easy, getting the clamp bolts out is not.

Have a look at the advanced factors site for prices on arms etc.
I fitted genuine rrs front lower arms to my d3, they were 100 quid each from ebay.

Proper 4 wheel alignment is normally 120 quid ish, so 65 sounds a bargain which is the only part of the quote that is!

Not really concerned about being ripped off as they’re a reputable mechanic. Just wanted to ask and see if others had paid around the same price for what I’m getting done.

Why ask if your not bothered?
But yes you're being ripped off.

@Jmcg95 Don't forget every part they supply, they pay tax on it and hopefully they'll only supply quality bits which cost as you know and not shïte parts marked up.
Unfortunately the more recent cars rust even faster than ever and fasteners and bolts are the worst quality they've ever been.
Economic fabrication.
I would recommend a second opinion though, to ease your thoughts.

Are they a Land Rover specialist and using LR / OEM parts? If yes to both, tbh I don't think it's unreasonably high.

If they're a bog standard garage that's getting bits of Euro or similar, it's a bit steep...

They are specialist yea and use OEM

I can't imagine you'd get it done cheaper at a specialist with OEM parts. You could go the cheaper route, but I'm not sure it'd be better value for money personally. My two are only worked on by myself and the local specialist I trust.
