200tdi to v8 efi convertion

hi fellow landy nuts i need help!!! i have a 200tdi 90 into witch i am trying to put av8 efi disco engine i have sorted the wires out but need help with the rest .will the disco gearbox fit in my 90 or can i use mine anyone no thanks rob

tdi gear box is the wrong ratio and in a 90 you will need the shourt nose bell housing
though saying that i did fit the disco v8 to a 110 i had and left the gear lever where it was and had it very close to the cubby box made for a very quick shift though you could use the remote housing from the tdi bo to make it right

I have fitted a Rover V8 4.0 out of a Rover p38 1996 into my 110. went straight up to the gearbox that it had in it (LT77 (I believe)) 4 speed which is a little low geared but fine to drive

Er me thinks not,

Gearbox is wrong type you could buy a conversion ring £££ or just buy the correct gearbox. As said the transfer box ratio is wrong you will need a 1.00 box opposed to a 1.4 ratio. Cheaper opption is to go for an old 4 speed rangy box much stronger and cheaper but no 5th gear.

v8 and LT95 gearbox,
V8 and defender 200 series long stick LT77 with conversion ring,
V8 and a defender LT77 long stick £££
V8 and santana box ££££££££££££££
V8 and Auto
V8 and an old disco short stick box and forever have a bodged up looking centre console (Cheap)

i have a 4 speed manual rr v8 box that would suit...

ive just fitted a 3.5 efi from a RRC with the gear box (LT77) too fit no problems the only thing is the gear lever is in a differant place not that i mind it i think its better
