Hi everybody,just thought I would add my thoughts on tuning the 200 engine.I have been fiddling with mine for some time and have some good results.So far I have fitted an Allard intercooler,adjusted the diaphragm/tapered cone in the pump,fitted a two stage Kenlowe fan in place of the original all of these are easy to do and well worth the effort.I have also changed the timing belt and taken the time to MAKE SURE THE TIMING IS CORRECT.Both axles,gearbox and transfer 'box have been treated with molyslip to reduce friction. Finally I fitted a boost gauge.---What is the result?
On a recent trip to Leicester and back (407 miles) with the Landy weighing in at 2000kg driving at 55/60 mph,fuel consumption was 36.4mpg !
Power is also up when towing-I normally have up to 3000kg on the hook and I have been surprised how the old girl pulls up moderate hills in 4th.All this has been done with the odometer now showing 214000mls!
Now I'm not sure what to do next options would seem to be;
1) increase boost pressure to 1 Bar
2)adjust off idle/max boost fuelling
3)Fit new VNT turbo .

Any thoughts would be appreciated and hope someone finds this info useful.
Regards ,John

WELCOME! Which Landy is the engine in? You might want to post the details in the appropriate engine section too.

The bit about Molyslip'ing the driveline and transmission items should work for any car - shouldn't it? I used to swear by SLick 50 for my engines.. then I got married and had **** cars for a while. Once I got something worth it IMHO, I'd clean forgotten about the additive :)

See you in the other sections!
