200tdi drowned , repair or replace?

definitely not a straight fit as its designed for a leafer so you'd need to weld on coil mounts and radius arms on as well.....be easier to just put leafs on the 90

it would be £275 + post which is what I paid or an offer close to it, these are very heavy axles though, about 1.5 what the Rover axle weighs in at but you'll never break one and you can get cheap lockers from the states

to iann+greyhair I don't get it either its my truck not anyone elses so I don't see a problem in me breaking it and repairing it , you can always learn ! plus im not getting myself into the s**t as its a second vehicle

currently looking for a new engine ideall a 200 but 300 will do anything to get it going again ! probably wont be soon though as finances are tight unless one comes local and cheap......?

Your "truck" as you say, which is fair enough but dont pretend to be experienced when clearly your not. An experienced driver would assess the risk and say "nope my _truck_ aint gonna do that without breaking something." Dont expect landy lovers not to love landys and moan when they get broke. Its all a learning process, lessons learnt the hard way by someone else are always better than learning them yourself that way.

don't make judgements on my experience or driving skill when clearly you don't know me

seriously I know we all love our landys but its nothing that cant be repaired good as new im not hurting a human or animal am I? its not their vehicle its mine , ill do what I like with it , when I first got it it was days away from being crushed after being in a bad accident and off the road for 11 years, I repaired it to a decent standard ,used it as my main vehicle till my td5 came along , as its not worth a huge amount ( 3 grand spent ) I decided to use it as my toy for offroad

dr evil ill have a think about it but itl probably be a pass , I would go down the coil route as putting leafs on a 90 is going backwards !

Not hard to weld on coil mounts, buy new LR ones and weld them to the top of the leaf blocks

If you wanted a second hand dana 80 instead of a brand new one I'd do it at £200 OBO plus postage

ill have to leave the dana for the moment my flitstones impression aint strong enough to turn that beast

fair enough if you do want it when you have an engine, you'll be needing at least a 10L V8 to get close to breaking strain

itd be ideal to have a front and rear? are there pairs or only rears?

I have front and two rears left but odds are I'll keep the front, not hard to get hold of one though if you know where to look

might have one if you still have them in a while after I have an engine , id try and get a front to match at some point if they are that hard to break !

if you break one with anything less than a seriously modified 7.3 powerstroke and 50" tyres then you're doing something seriously wrong

ill manage

the only things you should be replacing on these axles are brake pads, discs and oils

got it spot on me lad

quick update , have now purchased a scrap discovery for the V8 and manual box to fit into the 90 its only a baby one but its better than no engine and I can always fit a bigger one later

its a 3.5efi with manual box , 156k on the clock but the gearbox feels like new so may have been replaced, has twin LPG tanks which are full of gas and it runs on it no problem , engine sounds sweet with no problems so far and it pulls well

body rotten but steering suspention and axles again feel really good considering the standing time

paid £350
