Anyone any idea which is easiest way to remove starter motor earth strap on a 110 defender 200tdi? i have earthing issues and am in the process of removing the earth straps to clean to see if this improves my lighting issues!

So how do ya know it can be done on a defender
because i have read the Rave :)

as long as transmission or engine is earthed well to chassis and battery and body is earthed to both as well an earth at the starter is unimportant

I have to drop my down pipe to gain access, Id say a 200 is similar to a 19j. Its a 2 minute job , no biggie.
And to be fair its pretty self explanatory when you look at it.

Mine had earth issues so I fitted new lead from battery to chassis, another lead from battery straight to one of the starter mounting nuts/bolts and another strap from drivers side chassis to the engine itself, never been any issues since, was a slow starter and always felt like battery/starter was on its way out and as both of them were new.

i just put a strap on !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! oops wrong forum ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,now where"s delete :rolleyes::rolleyes::D

Sometimes the strap itself can lose integrity, I have a few on mine, tranny box to chassis, engine to chassis, bulkhead to chassis, battery to chassis, chassis to chassis.
