That's it then, the rot's set in, back to the least rusty lr, the freelander.

I have always found the least rusty Land Rover product is the P38 Range Rover.....unless it has been parked in the Solent for its life, they just seem to never rust out!
just ordered myself a set of mudflaps
don't know if it will prevent this , someone in the past has undersealed the sills
already had the front inner wheel arches out , cleaned out the mud etc and then sprayed with dinotrol
will also get the rear inner arches out and do the same
good heads up where to look for prospective buyers
do u think youve caught it in time
have u also checked the rear towing eye , right by the trailer sockets and in the corner

Looks like that huge piece of trim had trapped the mud behind it 
It would appear from that this is std D3 problem and is well known, theres some very scary pics of rotten sills out there rrs is the same as well.
I reckon Im safe for now but after owning a few D1 x 3 and a D2 a 90 and a 59 series 2 I know what rot looks like and Im not impressed this is after all a pretty recent car by my standards.
This pic was posted recently on the series 2 forum and shows a pretty rotten body to chassis mount, I wouldnt buy it!
