I would just fit the ECU for now. You can then drive it to your friendly local garage and get it coded correctly to the car. As it is from a V8, it is *mostly likely* OK, but I cannot remember what vehicle specific information the ABS ECU holds, but I am sure it contains vehicle specific data such as VIN ID, and other such details.....but it is best to get it setup using diagnostics, that way you know it is correctly setup for your car and no-one elses.

Once done, see if that cures your ills....if not, you can then change the pump/modulator etc.....but bleeding the brakes is a right pain on these, so only break into the hydraulic circuits if you really need to.

So I’ve replaced just the ecu and immediately I wasn’t getting the usual temp gauge shooting up to max. I then tried clearing faults with my gap iid but was still getting the ‘3 amigos’. One of the faults was coming up ‘steering angle calibration’ so I found that I could reset that with the iid also (lock to lock didn’t work) - result!! I’ve been out in it and all looks and feels good - I won’t say too much though as I’ve so much go wrong in the last 2 months!
Thanks for your help everyone, for the link to the part in the first place and then the tech help. Great forum.
