2003 disco, starting probs

I turn the key but the engine wont crank,
there is some clicking noise from the left side, after 4 or 5 attempts it starts as normal,
battery is brand new, terminals are good,
this has been intermittent for about a month, somedays no probs at all just starts normally others not so, any ideas chaps? thanks

you need a td5 solenoid contact kit from ebay ,it can be done with starter on the vehicle but much easier with it off,starter is held on with 2 x 13mm headed bolts and one 15mmm nut

Probably as JM says but worth checking all the connections first including earths. A dodgy connection can cause intermittant problems
