2002 td4 freelander original vcu

Just wondering does anyone else have the original vcu on their Freelander.. Mine has nearly 185000 miles on the clock and still has original one in.. I live in a rural area so it gets plenty of work in snow and I tow trailers through rough lanes and fields and take turf out of bog with it, so fair to say it gets above average use!!

134000 miles, still going strong. You watch the bugger break now!

My recently aquire 05 TD4 auto with 111K on the clock has a stiffening VCU.

Got a feeling my 02 TD4, 130,000 odd miles had its original. Was very stiff (locking inner wheel on bends). Changed it pronto.

Where did ye get your replacement?

Mine came from island4x4 I think. Got a pair of their finest bearings too.

Had prop carrier bearings done at 120k but now on 156k and I believe my vcu is original, as the previous owner seemed to have kept every bill and invoice for work done. Mine has had a "light use" type of life though - No towing.
