2002-2005 Sat Nav Upgrade

@Datatek don't suppose you would know if the display unit can be replaced. Rather than taking the dash apart , to replace full unit? TIA

Getting the centre display unit out is rather quite simple....

Undo the torx screws holding the side vent panels on - then the ones holding the top of the dash on - then undo the ones holding the display unit in place - lift out the display unit and unplug....

I am sure I have photos of the top of dash removal in one of the how to's - most likely the HEVAC one!

Thanks Ant. It looked simple but I wasn't sure if it could just be a case of changing that part might work. Worth a try though. Also the video connections you mentioned would seem to be the ones I broke the little retainers on. I've not been able to find new ones, as they're an odd shape.
I think I might go back to the start. Car asleep, fuse out. If no joy, car asleep have a fiddle with the unit and connectors. Then if still no joy buy a 2nd hand unit and try just replacing display unit.
She sure does like to have my full attention

P.s @Saint.V8 , silly question time Ant. How do I get the arms to stay out, so I can take the screen unit off, without breaking it?

Waste of time even if they are available as they are always out of date for roads in Europe. Better to use Google maps on a tablet or smart phone.
