The first one will do me! I'm desperate to get the boost ring in.
if you opt for a cheapy ebay digital, you can still use the same thermocouple on the madman. UK stocks of the EMS2 are almost out. The EMS3 was due in August. But been delayed for some reason. If you are on facebook head to their FB page to see any progress on the new version.

I'll do that they can't be too inaccurate as long as I get a close approximation of temp that'll do. I'm not on FB I hate it. I'll settle for an EMS2 but can't find any for sale. Any pointers?

I would put money on 99% of the thermocouples on the market coming from the same region of the world...!
4x4Overlander were the only UK stockists of the EMS2 to my knowledge, you can try Speaking to Barbra Brew there, see if she still has them?
We are trying to get our hands on them for resale. UK stock may be dry as a result of the new version on the horizon

I thought that might be the case. I'm happy to buy from you guys I'll wait. I've ordered a 30 quid one off of fleabay to tide me over and at least give me an indication of egt to stop me cracking the manifold once I've fitted the boost ring!

Good Idea.
We must be mindfull that these are tuning products, an elevated level of tune above the factory settings will want to expose any weaknesses inherent in the engine, as we push these engines closer to their limit they will invariably run hotter.
An EGT gauge is a wise investment for anyone tweaking their TDi engine, real time live data on temperature will be the ideal indicator of when you need to lift off the throttle and calm it down a bit.

got my goodeys yesterday - boost pin and boost ring :). Now gotta find time to fits them without an EGT!
will be an interesting exercise as I havent played before like this.

any recommended places on a 300TDi to fit an egt probe?

If you've removed the EGR then use that spot. I'm not far behind you Mate I've , already got a Boost pin but have just received the boost ring and my EGT in the post. I've got an EGT thermocouple adapter to fit onto the EGR blanking plate.
Get an EGT it'll stop you cracking your engine!

I couldn't remove my EGR - had to fit the blanking plate at the front of the EGR pipe, so don't have that option.
