Doing a big service on my 300tdi disco and got the use of a 2 post car lift if i want which will be great for access. Where is best to place the lifting pads under the car? i dont have jackable sills? cheers

Anywhere that's flat and solid on the chassis. No disrespect intended but if you don't know where to lift it should you really be getting underneath and working on it?

Think RAVE recommends 4post lift. Check SWL of any lift, you`re gonna be under 2`n` tonnes of metal ! Don`t jack body, use only the chassis. I wouldn`t be happy with a 2 post lift and would use jacks and axle stands. (Cue loads of replies:"I`ve done it on 2post-lift and didn`t get crushed"!).
You set your own safety standards..... I prefer to set mine high!

rear arms place on the underneath of chassis just behind radius arm mount ,that way radius arm acts as protection from arm slipping side ways same at front but forward of radius arm

Yeah i was going for the chassis but i have read alot about not to use a 2 post on landys and it even says so in the defender book! Think ill give it a try but ill hve axel stands ready too! cheers jamesmartin think that sound good

I have had several disco's on my 3t 2 poster incl. my D1 a D2 and a D4 no problem's as long as you put the lifting pads nice and square either chassis or radious arm mounts (although they are a bit close together especialy on a 90. the main up rights of the ramp do flex a bit if you are hanging on something, but never felt unsafe under it, will be better when i get my 5t two poster fitted though :D
