Guys - want to fit a lift as the old beast is old & never been touched but can you just fit springs & shocks or do you have to fit the castor correction arms/trailing arms etc. as suggested in some of the aftermarket kits. I appreciate the must be some benefit( exactly what I am unsure) but to start with is it neccessary or could it wait? Also, any reccomendations on kits and suppliers?

you shoulnt need corrective caster with 2 inch lift just use kit springs shocks, you will know if caster angle has been reduced or lost as vehicle will no longer self straigthen coming out of corners

As mentioned, you shouldn't need to take any additional measures for just a 2" lift. Just springs and shocks.

I'd recommend you check out Terrafirma kits, which is what I'll be using when I lift mine. ;)

mailorder 4x4

I've been looking at suspension kits for a few months but havent got round to buy it yet.... can't find anywhere cheaper than mailorder 4x4

whatever you do, dont buy Britpart..
you been warned, if you feel tempted by the price.... dont come back cause we'll tell you "I told you so"

if you want to know why not to buy Britpart.. use the search function

the britpart yellow springs and gas shocks are as good as any ive fitted a lot of there kits never had a problem ,yes some britpart parts are poor but not these, most pf youre genuine parts come through them ,i fitted them to farmer/hauliers 110s hes been impressed

Numerous members on here have posted that they noticed the Britpart springs tend to sag after 12 months or so, Bearmach (Blue) springs might be a better option.

ive had mine for over 3 years still good full kit was only £150 ive had blue too was good but shockers not as good ,you can find examples of all makes failing if you ask around,i can buy genuine or oe parts from britpart at a fraction of cost of lr ,next time you order from paddocks or similar ask for options they and others push the too cheap **** ie i can get timken wheel brg for £4.75 from britpart and pattern for £3.75 which would only last a short time, timken is oe and genuine

Bearmach suspension kits (4 Blue springs and 4 Pro Comp ES9000 Shocks) sell for €283 +IVA (IVA is VAT in Portugal) at our place like but i don't really know the UK prices in Sterling, and the Bearmach kit is great value for money too for a decent lift

Stevo88 - esse kit aqui é cerca de 210libras...as coisas ca são muito mAis baratas que em Portugal

Jamesmartin - good luck with the britpart ****...and if the wheel bearings are timken they're not britpart

That's exactly what I've fitted to mine ... no problems at all after four months and cost around £200 for the set.

bought from them

if they were brought from Britpart...who gives a ****????? they are timken... the point here was that Britpart products are ****...britpart branded products.

the timken bearings could even have been sold by the kebab shop around the corner...they'r not Britpart, they'r Timken

not all there parts are poor even if you are talking about their pattern parts ,and just to say their parts are **** is not to give the real picture ,yes some of their pattern branded are ,but they are a good source for genuine oe and others like the yellow spring kits ,ive bought and sold parts from all 3 suppliers and still do,it would be better for ****s like you to say britpart cheapo branded parts are poor if you think that rather than infering everything the sell is
