Hi, I'm Tony. I bought a 96 Discovery 1 at the end of July. A few niggly problems with door locks etc but I love it. I got hooked when the company I work for took some of us 4x4 driving near Tenby in West Wales in June. I love the Disco but it's a bit 'rugged' for transporting the family (2 toddlers and another imminent arrival, plus I don't like the lap belts in middle of 2nd row and the two inward facing seats in the rear. So, yesterday I bought me a 2000 TD5 GS Auto and I love that as well. I thought it maight make me want rid of the older one but if anything it highlights the charm even further. My onyl concern about the TD5 is the occasional feeling of unsteadyness when taking motorway bends at 60mph upwards- I think the car is getting drawn into the grooves carved out by thousands of HGV's over the years- is anyone aware of similar quirks? I've been reading the threads occssionally, I'd like to know where I can do a bit of green laning in South Wales- just moved here from Lancashire though I'm originally from Newcastle upon Tyne.
