After many years of desiring and lusting after a Landrover, I can now finally say I own one of my own! She might be a bit older and rugged around the edges but big Gladys is proving herself well so far (4 days in.) Have obviously yet to take her off roading at all because of the lockdown and dry weather at the moment, but when thigns begin to ease I am keen to look at making some friends on the community as a whole, but also in the Wiltshire area who can advise me on the best places to go or even days out where I can get some much needed help and advice.
Big Gladys has wanted for nothing from her previous owner, just the usual 21 year old car bits such as peeling paint in places and sealed shut sunroofs.
Impressions so far are fantastic, I have come from a Skoda Octavia VRS so this is quite the change! But I love the driving position, practicality and quirks of the vehicle. Might be so desperately slow but it somehow doesn't matter in a car this big. My only annoyances with it are the lack of A/C (I'll get used to it) and the 3 button press to get into the boot! My Labrador Louis (pictured) is always with me. But again, something I will get over.
The disco itself is a 99 TD5 S manual, on disco 3 wheels with some chunky tyres!
I'll welcome any questions and I look forward to exploring the forum.
Best,
Ed.
