I have 2 alarms on my 2004 freelander.
It was like it when I got it. One is the standard alarm the other is a cobra?
Both work independently.
Why would anyone buy a second??

Obviously didn't trust the factory one. If you don't like it get the Cobra one taken off.

The factory one locks the door better
So it can't be opened from the inside.
But I feel like some old granny with 10 locks on Their front door.
I just wondered if there was some known problem with the factory one, that would make someone fit a cobra?

I have found the alarm system to be on of the more reliable parts of the car.

Lol
Please don't say that vie only had it a week!!!
Loving it so far though.
Just gone past the 30mpg mark my get 35 if I'm lucky. And I do alot of stop start an traffic in the morning

Had mine for 3 weeks but had a T reg 1.8 for 2 years untill I sold it in 2007. No probs with that. This one however is trying me a bit! Cam breather Filter needed changing immediately as a matter of urgency, had a door fixed that had a broken door check and now in for the typical rear door problem! On top of all that the car was pretty far from the described condition.

Sasha, I'd say as your's is the Van back it's was probably just more secure for the owner, they might have used it for work (items in the back) probably had a nasty time of having stuff nicked..... Take off if you want want it.

Not bothered enough to take it off.
And when I'm working in a really dodgy area I'm put both on.
