Hi I got a R Reg P38, just been looking a the back of my radio, the factory fitted one, and there looks like theres 2 aerials at the back ? took them off, and on he back of the header unit where the "aerials" go on two and one is red and one is black ?? does anyone know what theses are and what the diferent colours mean ??? Thanks Nicky

your quite right nicky 2 aerials not a clue why  , mine was a clarion head unit and although it worked fine i decided to change the whole system for a more modern sony system , i just used one aerial lead ( dont rmember which one ) but it works great and no reception issues at all

Thanks for letting me know that it doesnt matter which one I use ! was getting abit worried !! I got a DVD player getting installed next week !! Thanks again !!

its the clarion header unit with the cd changer in the boot !! the car has the KH upgrade on the speakers, and I have bought a lead from a bloke on Ebay who says it will cover the speaker wiring, and I have seen some good reports on it !!

There could be two ariels fitted to allow for better reception in the LW ranges. Just a guess, no evidance to support this.
It's not an RCA out put to an amplifier is it?

yep just the same as mine was , i also bought my adapter lead of ebay and it worked a treat ( just be sure all the connectors engage ok though when you plug it all together ) mine pushed one out and sounded crap :) but it was soon sorted .
rick.

P38's have 2 aerials for the Diversity function of the radio. Basically allows better reception and the radio switches to the antenna with the stronger signal. Not all P38's have it though, its for vehicles with the HK sound system.

If you look along the bottom of the radio just below the display it should say Diversity somewhere.
