My rangie does this on and off but seems to do it every time i start it up now.
When i try to start it sometimes i have no electrics at all as if the battery isnt connected, this usually corrects its self by waiting 5 minutes and trying to turn the key again, if i do manage to get it started it will select drive fine and all other gears, but when i go to pull off its seriously down on power, as far as im aware its not in limp mode as it will change gears reluctantly and i can select sport, but will seriously struggle up any sort of incline, feels like a clutch slipping in a manual. im talking 20mph with my foot flat to the floor. sometimes it will throw a gearbox fault on the message centre but most of the time there will be no message, in addition ive noticed that the rev counter will bounce between 0 and showing the correct revs and sometimes just not work completely.
Testing the battery there didnt seem to be an issue, ive read low voltage can cause these issues but battery seems strong i had 12.6v with engine off and 13.8 when on with all electrics going.
i havnt managed to read the code when it does seldom appear as ive not got a nanocom and cant seem to find anyone near leeds with one.
if it wasnt a Westminster id have scrapped it by now, any advice i can get will be appreciated.
