I also intend on sending Craddocks the bill for the work on the pump, seen as they sold me it as a recon unit 6 weeks ago!
Sounds like youre getting somewhere with that now, mate! Unless you get em tested properly you've no idea whats going on. Should be quick to refit sounds like you've had a bit of practice by now. Best of luck it will be worth it.I've had the pump and the injectors tested.
The injectors needed new nozzles, they said they were completley destroyed. I managed to source another set so i've got a full set of injectors that have been reconned and tested to make sure they work.
When they tried to test the pump, they said they had to tighten everything up inside as it was barley done up, finger tight at most they said. But once they tightened everything up properly it tested fine.
So i should have them back tomorrow and then its a case of rebuilding it all again.
I do want to find a fuel pipe, the one that goes from the tank ( mines a 109 with the rear tank ) up to the lift pump because mine has a dodgey extension on it and i'd prefer a new one, but i cant seem to find one anywhere. Does anyone know who stocks them?
I havent got the injectors fitted so a picture wont help, but i'll try to explain.
The spill rail attatches to all 4 injectors, on the 4th injector a pipe attatches to the top which then goes to the top of the fuel filter.
A pipe attatches to the end of the spill rail and goes to the fuel tank ( i think ).
What year is your 110? 2.25 was fitted in the early days of 110 ( 85/86 i think )
Backleak rail can connect anywhere on the low pressure side going back to the tank. Its not critical exactly where it is routed, peeps often make their own, I always keep nylon fuel pipe and a few fittings in case I want to make low pressure pipes.mat, would you mind doing me a favour. Would you take a picture of your spill rail (esp no4 area) and the fuel lines and where they go. to the filter, etc.
I noticed something a little odd with my setup the other day, and I think the PO has done something funky. Well I know he has.. as my 2.25 is in a 110
I would agree hundred percent with that, and also think its worth being wary of real cheapies, I don't think it is possible to prpperly rebuild and test for £200.its usually best to get your pump and injectors done at local injection specialist not from parts suppliers

it isnt , ive had a few to fit at one time and another all were crapI would agree hundred percent with that, and also think its worth being wary of real cheapies, I don't think it is possible to prpperly rebuild and test for £200.
Friend bought a pump from an upcountry supplier, timed up ok but was leaking within a few weeks. After getting leak fixed it was another fortnight til it happened again. When he put it in for rebuild locally turned out all the sealing washers had been reusedit isnt , ive had a few to fit at one time and another all were crap
yeah its what you explained to me with mine wich was me problem but it wasn't on the filter it was on the bottom.fuel intake on the fuel pump direct from the loft pump should ne an inbound one.way valve wich mine was open and flowing back to the lift pumpbeen a while since i messed with 2 1/4 dervs, but isnt there a restrictor on the output side of the filter where the spill goes back to the tank? seem to remember i had an issue with derv circulating round the spill line instead of being drawn off by the pump.
yes.is it normal to have fuel constantly pumped back to the spill rail from the top of the filter?
yes.
thats why theres a restriction, to allow pressure for the injector pump to draw off what it needs.
fuel that isnt needed spills back to the tank.
If the rail is connected to one of the inlets to the filter there should be no fuel flowing back towards the injectors as the bleed off is delivered back at a slightly higher pressure than that from the lift pump.
