2.25 diesel just will not start.

if they are all spraying well, then i guess timing or compression.. starting at clutch straws now. The compression test will be the quickest to do.

Well, i tried the spray pattern, only on 2 injectors and it seemed ok.

Now i've just tried it and nothing.

Could someone run through how they check the spray pattern to make sure i'm not doing something completley idiotic?

test all of them. hook them up, point em at some cardboard and they should be a misty cone. Try at idle and at higher revs. ( haha, ;) or when you are turning it over )

BE CAREFUL, DON'T LET IT HIT YOU.

Check them all at once or one by one? ie have 3 still in the block and one out to test or just have them all out to test at once?

one by one will do, you are just checking that they are spraying and it is a cone shaped mist rather than a dribble or stream.

well there doesnt seem to be any fuel coming out of the injectors...

I'd say this could be an issue :D

Did you let the engine turn over enough?

If you crack an injector pipe off are you getting any fuel at all coming out when cranking?

Get that digger moved and tow start it :)

Theres fuel coming out of the pump but nowt from the injector.

Digger is gone but i've got nothing to tow start it with!

Just been told about a place that'll have a look at the injectors from another landy owner so i'll have to take them in.

I'd start thinking it's the pump. Another trick is to remove the glows and crank the engine. It lets the engine spin over quickly due to lack of compression.

Let's you check/bleed the fuel is being squirted by seeing the vapours coming out the glow holes.

the pump can go for testing with the injectors just to make sure.

Also going to remake all the fuel lines while i'm at it, just in case theres any holes even though i don't think there is.

And a new fuel filter.

I've had the pump and the injectors tested.

The injectors needed new nozzles, they said they were completley destroyed. I managed to source another set so i've got a full set of injectors that have been reconned and tested to make sure they work.

When they tried to test the pump, they said they had to tighten everything up inside as it was barley done up, finger tight at most they said. But once they tightened everything up properly it tested fine.

So i should have them back tomorrow and then its a case of rebuilding it all again.

I do want to find a fuel pipe, the one that goes from the tank ( mines a 109 with the rear tank ) up to the lift pump because mine has a dodgey extension on it and i'd prefer a new one, but i cant seem to find one anywhere. Does anyone know who stocks them?

excellent, sounds like that will fix it.

iirc (5/16) 8mm plastic nylon fuel pipe. double check though :)

fender, but might be useful if you fancy doing a bunch of stuff while you are at it http://www.landyzone.co.uk/lz/f7/200tdi-300tdi-lumpy-idle-smoke-fixed-153190.html#post1498735
