We thought it was the standard engine but couldn't find any mention of 19L on any listings, it does have an auto gear box. We need to find out the specifications to fill in a questionnaire for tests in France because we were only given a partial certificate of conformity, it has to go for tests for noise and emissions because it is an unknown marque to Land Rover France, if it develops 90kw (120) 4000 rpm as stated by autodata maybe it's specifications are different from 300tdi. I can't find anything about by googling it. Thanks for the help.
Hello mate, first of all I've done maybe 20 importing LR's into France so I may be able to help. For a start, your car IS a known vehicle to LR France, they are just being difficult.
Because your vehicle in Japanese specification, rather than european spec is the reason why you are only getting a partial Cert of Conf. However all the tech specs are identical to a European spec car, same power, same noise levels, same exhaust pollution levels.
If they are saying that you must go to Paris for an single vehicle approval then you should be aware that this is likely to cost you 1350 euros.
If you can encourange them to accept a local Bureau de Mines, or DRIRE inspection that is much cheaper at about 100 euros.
If they insist on a sva you need to be firm and fight this as it is NOT neccesary.
Your vehicle is almost identical in all repects to the vehicles sold in France other than very minor differences to the EGR system, the radio and trim levels.
If you want more info pm me direct and I'll try and help. One thing you might find useful to know is that a mate of mine tried to import a grey import (from Ireland) Toyota Surf, which at the age of his car was not imported in France - so they made him go for a SVA - your situation is completely different in that your model has always been imported into France, so there should be less issues.
Incidently,
your engine is a TDi 300 EDC (Electronic Diesel Control) and has 120 bhp. Puissance Fiscale of 10CV.
Cheers and good luck
