What is involved in the swop from 19j to a rover v8 on carbs?
Ive done a search but cant find much, mostly going v8 to 200tdi. I love the v8`s and was thinking of a dead rrc for the donor. Wiring is odvious, want to go for carbs to make things easy. Before the abuse starts you cant get the v8 burble from a tdi so thats out of the question.
Will the lt77 manage the 3.5?

A V8 is cheaper than a 19J so just flog yer 19J and buy a V8 - why devalue it like that?

I know my chassis and bulkhead are good, so wouldnt get any nasties. Cant find any factory ones out there.
Ive really got attached to the old truck as well so want to keep him for the long haul.

you want to go for the EFI option. It's pretty straight forward to wire up. Not much more hassle to fit than one on carbs plus more power and reliability and slightly better mpg than carbs. Theres quite a few threads over on the v8 forum about doing the conversion. I personaly went for an auto box with my conversion as I do a lot of towing and it makes life easier.

they did do lt77 v8 option ,ive converted quite a few but needs to be 200 tdi lt77 56a not 50a usually better with oil cooler but will take it fine,

no engine mount changes ? no bulkhead modifications ? no changing diffs ?

**** if if id known that id have bought the v8 i pointed out to my mate - was 150 quid for manual box and 3.9 V8 apparently in GWO

you would need to move mounts forward as engine sits further forward,in std v8 90 floor plates tunnel ,props are different like 3ootdi as everything sits forward 2 inches ,but if you just fit gearbox with v8 bell housing which is longer than 4 cylinder bellhousing it would still fit further forward than 4 cylinder but not as far as std v8
