Hi there, my Disco 2 v8 keeps failing emissions test, replaced valley gasket, lamda,s, head gaskets. was up at 1.37 on emissions now gone down but not far enough to pass. Engine runs well, does not use oil, used regularly, varied driving. Any suggestions would be welcomed. Thanks:)

According to the Vehicle Inspectorate, data on correct emissions levels supplied by some car makers has proved incorrect or incomplete. The subsequent mis-programming of gas analysis equipment could lead to unjustified MoT failure.

I suggest that u go to another garage and see if they will do a emmission only test on your disco a pre MOT check if u like, it only takes 10 mins so they shouldn't charge to much they may do it at the end of the day for cash ;) and then compare the resuits.

Problems like this would/should be sorted out in the service at a good LR garage. Engine oil change, plug and air filter can also make a differance

Regards

There is something wrong with your car if it wont pass an MOT emissions test - they pass with ease if running properly.where in the world are you, maybe we can direct you to a decent independant to sort it.

Many thanks for the advice, I live in the North West, nr Preston so any good independents please let me know.

Thank you.:)
