Hi, I’ve just bought a P38 2.5 dt in a T 1999 plate. Everything working fine then fob wouldn’t work, I got new batteries but wouldn’t unlock with remote. I have tried to start and a message which has never appeared before came up saying ECA manual! (Note: the car has not air suspension it has springs). Also when I can start it as it says engine disabled push remote. I have been online to try to resolve but nothing is working. Can anyone help me?

Is the antenna plugged in for the fob receiver? Ie can you unlock from a distance or do you need to be very close?
If it's not plugged in, reconnect and you might find it works again when you put the key in the ignition.
Do you have the EKA code?

Sorry don’t know what the antenna looks like or is located. No doesn’t matter how close is won’t work. Was working in the morning but just stopped to changed battery and won’t open.

I meant before it stopped working ;) the fob receiver is just under the plastic trim behind the rear seat, on the right hand side. Where you press to fold the rear seat forward

Sorry you did have to be close to open, also don’t have the EKA code and don’t know how to get this as have not docs with it. Just going to check antenna now

Read the code on the windscreen lower n/s lip. Take that to a dealer he should be able to provide EKA code. If you owned a Nanocom and knew how to use it you could disable immobiliser and need for EKA to start car. The fob is out of sync it will do that if you take longer than ten mins to change batteries. It CANNOT be resynced until EKA code has been entered and accepted by the system. If you lock with fob and unlock with key you will always get engine immobilised message.
