I am annoyed at being woken up in early hours of the morning and my neighbors want to kill me.

Why? Because my stupid alarm keeps going off for seemingly no reason at all! The other day, I pulled on the drive @ 11PM. Alarm goes off @ 3AM. Yesterday, I pulled on the drive @ 2AM. Alarm goes off @ 8AM.

There's been various other instances too. I have no idea at all why it's going off!

When I put the key in the ignition it said -> Alarm triggered, RH side door.

I am also having problems with the lights when locking/unlocking - instead of my hazards coming on my headlights & brakelights do.

All these problems seemed to have spiraled from changing the battery in the key, and removing the battery from the car to charge (because it went dead - it had always been fine until I changed key battery??).

ANY help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Dale.

I've done a search mate but there's nothing that relates to the fact that my lights are flashing the wrong way round too :p

Those are all the type of problems that can result from a dodgy battery in the car, not the FOB. You say the battery went dead, why? Could be the battery voltage is low due to a duff cell for example. My first step would be to get a new battery, the biggest that will fit in the hole and check that the alternator is charging properly.

My battery went flat again last night..... Anyone have any clues as to why these THREE things may be happening? It's so annoying.

As said, duff battery, they don't like the cold, 12.4 volts may be an indication that the battery is not too good capacity wise, might have a high resistance cell. RF receiver waking up the BECM is another cause of flat batteries, disconnect the blue aerial wire,

a fully charged battery should have over 13v when you take it off charge, then it will drop to around 12.6v.

Hi,

Same problem for me, battery is fine, only happens every now and again.

When it does happen, the interior lights either stop working or constantly stay on. I have to disconnect the negative battery terminal to reset them.

My indicators have not flashed with alarm since I used my syncmate, I read something to do with another language in the settings or something, that's no worries.

Each time the alarm goes of it stays that it is the drivers door triggered, all seems ok with door locks, opens, unlock all good, shows open on display when open and closed when closed.

It only happens about once a month and just fed up of resetting the windows!!!

Any ideas?

Disconnecting blue RF aerial wire is the best advice i've seen anywhere on a P38; mine was picking up signal from broadband hub and wakin BECM. Many others have had similar issues with mobile phone masts, electric pylons and all sorts.
It means you have to aim the fob closer to the rear offside to use it, but small price to pay compared to stealer price of uprated/shielded RF unit!
