Hi all,

For some reason I've decided to restore '93 vogue and need to find a source of parts, especially rear quarter panels and rear doors.

I'm also thinking of converting it from the 3.9 EFI to the 300TDI, but keep the auto box (if possible) - is this a daft idea?

All the electrics work, apart from the heater fan (could be an earth fault as it runs very slowly, so wondering if there is a resistance issue)

Once I find a way to post photos I will.

I'd personally keep the V8....if fuel costs are your concern, convert it to LPG....the 300TDi is a bit sluggish, and while it was offered in the later Classics it was never popular as it was a bit unrefined for the Range Rover owners taste at the time.

As for panels, not sure if YRM do external panels, they certainly do the inner panels and sills etc...

Could try ebay for doors or our forum sponsor, Emmots of Colne, may have contacts.

Duxford Land Rover might have some, although they may be a little pricey!

Photos needed :D:D:D

Thanks for the info,

I bought the range rover for the engine, it's destined to go into a MGB. As my original idea was to scrap the range rover, I need a replacement engine and the early 300TDI don't need a massive change to the wiring loom.
I think I could be able to do it up to a good standard and either sell it on for cost or a bit of a profit.
I only want to restore it to a decent to high standard - not interested in a bodge. I also need to find someone to paint it, I'll keep it as Ardennes Green

Got a 93 auto vogue on back field partly broken if you want to come and get it from durham dales. No wheels so I'd have to crane it on to a trailer

Also got a full LPG kit for it, single point

I wouldn't touch LPG for a RV8 with a 94mm bore engine. The V8's autobox (gearshift settings) will not be suitable for the diesel.

I've been running lucas hotwire for years with lpg and never had a problem with 3.9 and 4.6 94mm bore blocks. The later lr castings in the p38 often failed with coolant finding its way into the cylinders. gems efi or poorer castings - not sure. But I don't know why LPG would be a problem

From what I've been told it is not as easy to convert the early EFI to LPG - whether this has more to do with running or current legislation on the install.

You've been misinformed, its a piece of p##s and cheap parts wise for a single point kit. It switches off the injectors and starts the flow of gas through a venturi mated to the plenum, simple.
