Hi All, have just replaced my old 6way glass fused fuse boxes with 2x 8way blade fused fuse boxes. Does anyone have a clear pic or correct dwg of the fuse ratings for a 1987 12v GS 90? None of my manuals have clear fuse rating layouts, nor does the back of my fuse box cover.

There was a lot of confusion caused in the 90/110 by the label rating of the fuses.
The current marked on the label refers to the holding current rating of the fuse not the current at which that the fuse will blow.
The holding current is appx half that of the blow current. Many vehicles ended up by having fuses fitted that were marked as their blow current & kept popping.
 
The fuse layout label shows the fuses defined by their hold rating shown as 12A, 10A, 8A, 5A, 2.5A

25A fuse [12A hold]
20A fuse [10A hold]
15A fuse [8A hold]
10A fuse [5A hold]
5A fuse [2.5A hold]

Land Rover/s are odd old things - this must be the first car manufacturer that states the 'constant/hold' amperage as opposed to the actual fuse rating.
 
Correct. The guidance on those fuse rating equivalents appeared in the service maintenance comic/magazine KiT! submitted by a S/Sgt in April 1995.

On a formal basis there was a change dated March 1997 AESP 2320-D-122-821 General Instruction No.84 that the 10A fuse for stop & indicators should be replaced by one rated for 15A. A Dymo label was to be placed over the original rating on the label.

The problem was most likely to occur when towing a trailer. I'm tempted to wonder whether replacement fuses had been fitted but marked with the blow current rather than the holding current, so they blew more easily?
 
That's all interesting and wonder how many other owners out there are aware of this, especially with the ever fragile glass fuses. I have no fuse label data on the back of the cover plate, but there are some Dymo Labels alongside 'some' of the wire layouts. I've bought a new Dymo labeller to complete all new fuses for the new 8x fuse boxes to include some new ancillary supplies...Revotec fan manual override, front fogs [for future install] and 1x each for heated seats [run via relay].
 
Yes I have doubts that even in service the users were aware of those two notifications. My 90 never had the Dymo label & I have never seen one on any 90/110.
Always as well to have as many fuses as you can, it helps localise a fault more easily. My Lightweight had only 4 fuses, but my Dutch Lightweight had 22 fuses!
