Hi Guys

I'm looking to replace the front inner wings on my early factory 4 door and I've come accross these two suppliers.
GDI Products

And Eay On

There's about £150 difference in price between the two.
Has anyone any experience as to which is the best option to go for?
Mine being an early 4 door has bolt on inners.

Cheers

I have used quite a lot of the Easy on stuff now - they are not very far away from me, and I just turn up and hassle them - they always take this pretty well :)

IIRC, it's all zintec, and thicker than the original, so should last for a long long time - certainly with modern anti corrosion treatments.....

Though I am sure if it were coated with underseal, it will cheerfully rot like a good un :D

No experience of the other - which is the cheaper option ??

The GDI one is £214 and Easy on is £349

I always use YRM metal solutions as they are a good fitting panel and not over priced but for your bolt on I don’t think your going to get them off the shelf.

Give yrm a call they are very helpful.

The cheapest price above sounds quite high to me.

but for your bolt on I don’t think your going to get them off the shelf.

I'd be very surprised if Easy on didn't have - last time i was in their stock room, it was full to the brim with nice new shiny zintec bits ... sound a bit dear to me though!

Yes they will all have the weld on variety and YRM do stock hold but a bolt on one I think is going to be drilling your own bolt holes in a weld on.

I wonder why the stockroom is full?

Well, that's a good point - but you've forgotten that we're running D1's - so I have been there a few times :D:rolleyes: - it was actually full this time, as they had just had a delivery.....at least that what they told me o_O

I have found YRM to be better than Easys. Its worth a look at some of the big LR factors, too. I did the inners on my RRC last year and the autumn before,: found a shop soiled wheel arch piece at Craddocks at a good discount. Paddocks were good for some other sections, the rest came from YRM.

I know you want to use the fewest parts/most complete section possible, but using some sub assemblies , welded, bolted or riveted can give you a better fit on an older vehicle sometimes. Well, did for me, at least.

IIRC the headlight box is a complex bit of fab. The £80-odd that the boxes cost me was well spent.
Again, IIRC, YRMs unit is kind of halfway between RRC and D1, so fits both, if imperfectly. lAlso, I dislike Zintec!

I love the rawness and the exacting look of the easy on, I get quite turned on looking at raw sheet metal that is spot welded together.

Remember the panels we all bought in the 90s, black, satin n sexy, until you realised you had to wipe it down with thinners because it wasn't even feckin primer, just a storage coating!!!!!!
