17 inch offroad tyres

Does anyone do 17 inch offroad tyres to run on a freelander 2 in bad weather. Also what is the cheapest wheel option to fit a freelander 2 to mount the offroad tyres.

I found them looking for something else but I can't be arsed to look anywhere other than ebay.

These tyres are for a mate who has a freelander 2 who claims he has searched all over for 17 inch rim size tyres with a deep offroad tread pattern and all the dealers tell him there are none. He tried to get a set of steel wheels in 16 inch to help with the tyre choice but tells me the freelander 2 has its own stud spacing so these are not available. Is this correct.

Ahhh didn't see the freelander 2 bit. It's very easy to find off road tyres if you're willing to pay for new ones. You can get bfg mud terrains in basically all sizes.

As far as the stud spacing goes:

Disco 1, RRC and defender all have a large spacing.
Disco 2, 3, 4 and all newer range rovers than the rrc have and equal mid sized spacing.
The Freelander 1 had a small spacing equal to some rover cars. Now whether the freelander 2 is different, I don't know. Google it is as much help as I can be. If they are the same then the ones I showed you will fit.
