I am going to add a 12s socket to the towing bracket on the TD5 to power the fridge in the caravan and keep mi beer cool while towing (must be other advantages as well).

I have, after searching on here, bought a smart switching relay and I am considering taking the power supply from the auxillery socket in the back. This is protected by a 25 amp fuse so can anyone think of why this may be a bad idea?

Or has anybody got any other suggestions?

Ta for any advice.

:tea:

Sounds ok to me, I bought the puker LR S wiring kit, which runs all the way to the front, and has a couple of relays.

The only thing I can think of is make sure the caravan battery cannot 'back feed' into the car battery, or when you start the engine it will draw curret from the caravan battery as well, which going throug a 25 amp fuse and small wiring will not be good !!!

Hi Steve, good point but I think the smart relay will prevent this.

I will double check though.:)
