I did not have the luxury of taking a note of what wire went where as "Maggie" came with a "Jury" rigged switch and push button starting system separate from the steering lock and key.
So 1st step was to purchase a new steering column lock and switch, Paddock part number QRF100880 Bearmach part number BR1277.
The male connections on this item are numbered 1,2,3,5.
No.4 is blanked off.
No.2 is a double connector.
The wires that have been re-routed are:-
Brown 4mm Diameter, Live feed.
White 3mm Dia.
White/Red 2mm Dia.
White/Orange 2mm Dia.
So my problem is What colour wire goes to what connector?
Thanks in advance

Thanks that for that link there is a wealth of information at the end of it.

Never thought about entering that into a search engine.

Now for some study time.
Thanks again

no studying needed really, the first photo shows what you asked, the 8th a graphical diagram.

Geeze, in the words of Lock Stock, chill winstan...

Studied that google page and found the picture No.1 printed it off and went and did a continuity check on the switch and checked it against the correct wiring diagram ( well near as possible as the colour codes match up more than the others did) and desided that :-
Pole 1 was for the White/Red wire; Starter
Pole 2 was for the Brown wire; Live Feed
Pole 3 was for the White wire; Ancillary and Glow Plugs
Pole 5 was for the White/Orange wire; Ancillary and Radio etc.

Then went and did some wiring up (also needed to extend some of the existing wires) so now it seems to be working fine with the new switch.
So thanks for the google page but I think picture 8 belonged to the Star Ship Enterprise. That is if it was the diagram you were speaking about.
