Hi All

I have a 110 hardtop and a baby on the way! Therefore I am going to have to need a 3rd seat somewhere and easy access to it! So I think I am going to have to sell her or swap her for a station wagon.

So firstly does anyone want to swap a well kitted out hardtop for a 110 station wagon? Shes in outstanding condition and fully maintained irrespective of cost. Winch, snorkel etc. (full details on request)

Or does anyone have any ideas on how I could convert hardtop to station wagon/ 5 door or anything else.

I can't be without a Landy, I had considered swapping for a discovery but I love defenders!

Help!!!!

Look forward to any suggestions! Cheers guys!

1st forget about an east swap to a CSW. as chassis int same (ya need extra outriggers and body mounts welding on.

2nd forget about a child safe seat in the rear.

3rd unless you want to put the wife in the back and the baby in the front passenger seat. forget about carrying the baby in the defender.

4th Just bite the bullet and get a discovery. they're just as capable as a 110 if not more capable, offroad. they're quieter comfier and safer in a crash.

5th you'll be able to buy a disco for a hell of a lot less than you get for the 110. So you'll have loads of dosh for the wife to spend on baby gear..

Haha the wife in the back doesn't work, put her in the back out on salisbury plains and she ended up a bit bruised! lol. Not that i'd be offroading with the baby but wife not keen on the back, well not for travelling in anyway......

I thought this would be the case, discovery it is then!

Anyone want to swap a defender for a disco, or buy a defender!?

csw chassis is the same as only bolt on parts change ,its not hard to convert one to the other but whole rear tub needs swapping and hard to find, csw would make perfect family vehicle

Whats your defenders mileage and chassis condition ?

I could be interested, if it's solid I can just take out my V8 from the Series and throw it in

would be easy job to do yourself aslong as a means of lifting bodies but finding one , hobsons who where converting lrs for military had complete new ones ready to fit ,but not now ,will be a seach but worth it if you find one ,the last one i did was out of parts but there are more than you realise and not the cheapest way

Chassis is in good condition, I've waxoiled it every 6 monthly since I've owned it and its immaculate as far as I am aware. The engine is 300tdi and covered 118k. The engine has had new everything and also been tuned by alisport including a huge alisport intercooler. She's a ripper! I'll have a think about the disco, going to see how easy it is to track down a csw tub as I've spent about 8k on her since I've had her so would either want a mint disco or a good price for her! Grr these landys are hard work! lol

Well if interested in my disco its as solid as you'll find over here, its got 75k on it, FSH and been waxoyled since new like yours

Full ES spec with leather, heated seats etc

No rot anywhere, literally spotless only problem is leaky sunroofs which I've gaffered up as I like the option of using them in summer but didnt want a soggy headlining in winter

I'm up in the lake district in windermere but I will be coming down to london later this week so if you'd like to see it I'd be happy to drive it down as it's more comfortable than the Peugeot

I have a centre seat in my 90 which the missus uses and the passenger seat fits the baby car seat no problem.

It's a bit tight and the middle seat leg room is crap, but none of us are very wide so it works quite well.
