And there are the ones on the ends of the thermostat tube in a KV6, and are only of use for about 10 seconds before becoming redundant.

The zip tie on the pump side of the thermostat link tube stops the tube from sliding sideways into the pump housing. I've seen one fitted without the ties, where the tube had slid across, causing sudden coolant loss.

The love affair with the cable tie holding the slave cylinder is finally over!!...right before Valentine's day too!!

Was driving along, clutching from 2nd to 3rd heard a loud bang, lost all gears
turns out the slave cylinder had disintegrated at the push rod end what a pile of crap :( no roadside repair this time due to lack of parts, but the entire hydraulic system is click fit

So I had to cut the cable tie (x2)
After seeing the silly prices for a new hydraulic system, I'm thinking of modifying an MGF slave cylinder to fit the existing line, the MG clutch parts are metal, bleed valve and serviceable kits are widely available, I don't know why Land Rover used such plastic parts ?
