i thought your making the axle case?? so if the shafts splines fit as you say they do make the hub fit you must have your old axle on the motor use that?

I'm getting hold of a second casing to use as a datum, that casing will then be cut up so I've got the flange to bolt to and I can make the axle up in one go then fit instead of having to dismantle the old axle and leave the vehicle on blocks

I don't know if they fit or not I'm assuming they do. I'll measure up the shaft properly and see what the diameter is but pretty sure its 1.2" if so the Dana 44 ones will fit and pretty sure the PCD is similar to LR
 
The only converion on axles i'd even consider would be a sals complete welding on new spring pads or a later coil sprung axle D1/D2
 
SVA man will laugh. Had a kit car fail on the switches (commercially available switches from VWP) bacause..................the radius of the plastic switch was to sharp!!
