Hi,

I've recently replaced the clutch hydraulics on my 1998 1.8 freelander (turned out to be a broken slave cylinder bracket). As soon as i started it back up afterwards the revs are going through the roof whilst idling (5000+ revs). Could I have disturbed something or am I going to have to replace the throttle sensor?

Thanks in advance

Dan

Check the whole run of the throttle cable first - guess you already have! I did same job on mine a few weeks back. easy to knock where the cable mech is while trying to feed the hydraulics thru. make sure the throttle is returning fully.

Panic over. I've just had a good look around the engine bay and found what looks like a vacuum tube hanging loose, after re-attaching it to the cylinder head the throttle is back to normal.... Doh

Thanks for the suggestions all
