if someone wanted advise on committing suicide you'd naturally try to talk them out of doing it before you told them the best way to kill themself. Don't buy a k-series freelander.

not me I once met a guy who showed me the cut scars from his previous
sicide,I told him he should go down to the old railway bidgde thatt crosses the west cork road,it must be 50 meres up.I very much doubt he ever gave it a go.

My God!!! Didn't realize I'd cause all this asking a 'simple' question!!!

Well we've bought the Freelander as it's exactly what we wanted, next jobs are to check if the engine gasket mods have been done and then to get it converted to LPG. (That's got to be the way forward - 50mpg plus :) )

The year's warranty covers everything except 'wear and tear' and can be extended at the end of the year so even if it does have problems it doesn't matter as we won't be footing the bill.

Thanks to all for the 'advice', will keep you posted on problems or lack of them. :D

You never know you might be lucky, I hope you don't have any problems because you're more than likely stuck with it now, as noone in their right mind would buy it.

Mad Hat Man - yes LPG does burn hotter but it's a closed loop system integrated with the car's engine management system so not a problem. It will also run quieter and smoother, the oil will stay cleaner longer etc - I've ran converted cars before.

'Wear and tear' means tyres, brake pads etc aren't covered, everything else is, I've checked the policy docs. Converting to LPG doesn't affect the cover, apart from the LPG parts aren't covered themselves, again got it in writing from them.

Fanatic - tosser, **** off and suck your boyfriend's knob, at least you'll be useful for something.

Its not a problem - is that so - yu intend to run a system that burns hotter on an engine which is notorious for cavitation of the cooling medium in the cylinder head, which leads to HGF?

the oil will stay cleaner - too ****in true - it dont get dirty on a car ramp!!

Who is taking bets on how long it takes before he trys flogging it?
