Hi, just had my 99 td5 alarm fault diagnosed to the sensor (in the headlining above drivers door). Only problem is it's £137 for a new unit - a crappy little bit of plug-in plastic that looks like it's worth 10 bob (old money). Even then it can't be guaranteed and might be a dash out job tracing the wires!!! So, already £40 quid out of pocket for the diagnosis,
surely it would be better and cheaper to get a thatcham approved one than throwing loads of money at the factory fitted one? The guy who diagnosed the fault (really good/helpful guy) explained how the standard alarm can be easily immobilised. I guess I'm asking if anyone knows a way round spending so much on a new unit - either wiring across it or a cheap replacement.
Cheers
