im sure im not the only one making a bit of extra out the snow :) so come on, how much you been charging for the a tow?

im pretty much going for the standard tenner :) although should of charged the council for pulling the gritter out the ditch :) then pulled the truck that came to tow him out :) enjoyed that :)

hope the snow keeps coming, im well on the way with my winch fund :)

swear this has been covered lol

Im charging a tenner but donations for pulling people out of ditches or each other are going to Help for Heroes. . . im just enjoying people need my 4x4 that they would normally hate

The pride and warm glow which comes from helping people out for free far outweighs the disappointment they feel when you ask them for payment, yer tight bastid!

:) id normally do it for braggin rights only, but im a landscaper and with this snow n ice i aint gettin as much work done as id like! and as tesco told us "every little helps"
if i wasnt so close to my winch n bumper i might even feel guilty :) dont get me wrong if its someone whos realy in the **** i aint gonna charge , il help anyone who needs it! but if its some dumbarse who should of known better then that rope looks awfull tempting for a tenner :)

Karma, what goes around comes around.

I don't ask for payment as I actually get a buzz from helping them see that 4x4's do have a use ... but if they offer a thanks of money I also don't say no ... ;)

Made £33 last night from two delivery vans and 7 cars and a fiver this morning from two cars .. ;)

i agree with you , i would never look for payment , knowing i helped someone out of great difficitly is payment enough , but if someone offered a few quid as thanks i'd take it

I agree with the 2 above posts....askin for payment I think is cheeky.. its like askin if they want help.. but if they dont wanna pay/ or cant pay do you leave em there or recover em anyway.. :(... but I think its nice and should be taken when peeps offer and say here's a fiver for ya trouble go grab yaself a beer. :D

yea i dont actually charge money. i let em know i dont get paid for it, but thats it. if they want to give some money toward expenses then happy days, goes in the fuel pot.

saying that round here some people dont even say thank you - that really gets on my tits

they will be the one who call the 4x4 for the the other 11months of the year:rolleyes:

so when ya little micra is stuck will you bung the landy driver a tenner for getting you going again :D, or just let him drive off?

If they said to me... "I will get you out for a tenner" .. I would tell em to fook orf... I mean ....would they drive off cos I turned their offer down, if thats the case then thats bein greedy, and takin advantage of a situation..and if I dont pay... I can fook orf and stay stuck......:(

However, ....If they offered for nuthin I would give em summat for helpin me out. :D

I'd leave the rope on and tow them back where they came from!

I don't charge for helping people. I enjoy the feeling of making someone elses day better. As others have said if they offer me a fiver I wouldn't turn it down but I'd never ask. I have had a couple of cruel moments though. The best was a lad in a done up corsa that looks like the bat mobile. He often comes racing past me on the way to work in the mornings. Well yesterday he had his wheels spinning forwards but was going back down the hill he was trying to get up. Suddenly 15mph feels really fast as I ambled past him almost unaware of the lack of traction!:hysterically_laughi
