A big enough hammer and welding gear you can almost fit anything to anything ... but why the feck would you think putting the wheel on backwards will give you more control?

but is it safe?

Hw can anyone tell? I'd say go for it and tell everyone ... but make sure you get a decent video of it for Youtube/Darwin awards ...

Which wheel is he asking about?

Front? Rear? Steering-wheel? Spare?

Don't rubbish him too soon in case he's onto something!

Ha ha - Well spotted Tim; my sentiment exactly.

I agree with earlier comment - it has to be wind up.

Nevertheless brought a smile to my face.

What i THINK he is on about is turning the wheels inside out if you will to increase off-set. Seen it done on some Series running disco wheels. "Reversing" them if you will.

Personally, i would not do it because it will add so much stress to everything and i don't think the nuts will seat properly!

As shown here on a RRC - They do look good.... (Top corner)

yeah seen it done a few times, the nuts are fine, if yer look at the pressing of the steel the nut will seat proper on either side ! not somethin i would do tho

Dont do it, you wont be able to turn the steering wheel, and the load on yer axles will knacker them.
As for more control, I think the word is no control.
Fitting 4 wheels on the rear axle as per transit vans might be a possibility to get more traction on sand, but turning the wheels round, nope.

that is exactly what i meant but i said more control rather than more sticky outyness

depends what your trying to acheive
if its more grip your after and you got tractor style tyres then swapping side to side may help as the tyre will be going backwards dugging into the mud
from /\-----/\ to \/------\/
but without any extra stress on all the parts as the offset wouldnt be affected
but im not even 100% sure it will give much diffrance
definatly dont just turn the wheel around at the same position as like everybody else has said it will **** it right up
