After turning down a bit of a horse track to avoid a car full of chavs following me, got about five minutes down the track going at bout 5 miles per hour and slowly felt myself slipping into a ditch.

So i give it some welly and make it ten times worse so now my land meter is showing i'm at a 40 degree angle. I'm totally stuck now, and even 8 friends couldn't get me out. Didn't help that the lane was only wide enough for a mini. By this time smoke was coming from the engine bay and i could really smell my clutch overheating.

Eventually my brother in law came down and towed my out with his defender which was pretty difficult still.

Didn't take any photos as it was too dark :D

My clutch was on the way out as it was before the incident but it just about got me home. If i tried a higher gear than third it just slipped. Engine revved but i was going nowhere!

Dropped it off at the garage this morning and had to cycle to work :(

I can see what this weeks paycheque is getting spent on :hurt:

Managed to light up the clutch on my FL while backing up me pikey wagon. Don't want to do that too often thats for sure. Make sure a new release bearing goes in as well.

What so you're saying Chavs ran you off the road?

You didn't fancy fitting the clutch yourself?

Look on the bright side, at least your new polybushes stopped from ending up on the roof.

Sadly not, even the Suzuki Vitara has low box, no reason why LR couldn't have done the same.
I know me surveyor at work got very good at left foot breaking i n his but fooked the clutch getting up one of the steep batters. Then they gave a new navara. He was fuming.

The chavs didn't exactly run me off the road, i chose to drive down there lol. They sat at the bottom of the track on the roadside for a while, which is why i decided to go further down the track to at least come out somewhere, or turn round somewhere.

I didn't want another high speed chase as i had a couple of girls in the back that woulda **** emselves and i wasn't stopping as the lads who were with us... well i wouldn't choose to take em into a fight with me. They'd look after my back no doubt but i wouldn't expect a mike tyson from em lol.

My mates are now taking the **** saying 'it took a proper landrover to get you out'.

Cheers for the tip bout the release bearing... will make sure the garage do them.

I've never done a clutch before and the sound of fitting it phases me a bit... maybe if i had someone to help me do it but i've scraped my knuckles enough on this car this week!

My new poly bushes were surrounded by mud lol. As a got dragged out backwards, the plastic undertray scooped up a load of ****

Can I suggest fitting some 'James Bond' gizmos to the back of the car to deter future 'Chavs'
