so of all those the clincher is the class thing (going on any V8 rangey or depender i've eer been in does all the other things you mentioned there)???

I do agree, there is something great about the noise of a good V8, but i use me landy for practicality and coz it's fookin ace and if i wanted it for sentimentality (and class, as provided by a V8) then i think i might be drawn elsewhere. There is little less classy (i'm sure you will agree) than a new rangie with a quentin in a pink shirt and tie driving it on slicks, but i guess it's thanks to them we get to drive the beasts we do else they wouldn't have made it to the market!

nah, better off buying a 90 with a V8 aready in it - also i only just put the 200 in it (well, a year ago now - dunt time fly when yer having fun!) and it's great and coz i do quite a mileage it does the job, am better off with is as a dis-easel i think!

Wouldn't mind a V8 40th edition though - they look quite nice (not sure bout auto though)!

v8s sound nice

every time I start my engine I start smiling and regardless of what is going on anywhere else I keep smiling till I stop the engine.. if your oil burner does the same for you then that's all good cos at the end of the day if our motors didn't make us smile we'd be driving jap crap that's quieter, cheaper to run and seems to get less grief from the green brigade..

You just wait!!!
i have virtually the same power with more torque,

Parkers figures for Range Rover Classic:

3.9 V8 EFi Petrol 182 bhp

2.5 TDI Diesel 111 bhp

I'm getting a 200tdi 90, but I still want a V8 :(
