New Defender Problems

I was talking to a lad who's cousin has a new puma defender with only 8k mls and had to get a new gearbox fitted, he says that there's some mis-alinement issue with the gear box. Its a typical rumour from the "my cousin" department but has anyone heard other stories like this? By the way do you refer to Puma or TD4 when talking about the 2007 model?

i'll let you know next week my 56 plate has to go in for some warranty work (got water getting into the ecu comapartment ) :rolleyes: cant think from where ?:rolleyes:
anyway going in on tuesday and have been told thay will provide a "defender puma" certicy :eek: (booked in for 2 days!!)
 
surely everthing on a defender is misaligned. or is this dealer talk for dont know, dont care,but come back when the warrenty up so we can bill you thousands to find out

I have a mate who has a new one which he used for some light towing and in the first year of ownership he got through 8 gearboxes (all under warranty) - the engine seems to be way too torquey for the gearbox, which is made of cream cheese!

1 snippit for you all the gearbox is the 6 speed 1 out of the mondeo for ****!! sake !!:screaming_bug_eye_f :screaming_bug_eye_f :wtf:
