There is a dedicated rev counter wire within the engine to ECU cable.

Ah yes, luckily on mine the grey/white wire extends from the ecu to the multiplug for the instrument cluster so only need to add a pin and the gauge. The genuine gauges just seem to be pretty much obsolete so hoping someone has one spare.

nope all gone, i have a Croytech VDO TD5 one for sale if interested, brand new.
