The blue 1 next to it is the "mud ball"

Never used the roof rails and have often thought about taking them off, believe not easy or cheap to get? But as they are part of the original invoice I have just left them on.

I sit a solar panel in on the shelf in the back window. Less likely to attract vandals.

Direct sunlight is not needed, the panels provide enough to keep the battery topped up even on overcast days in winter.

Our house panels face west with a little bit of south, you can get plenty from west.
