Shouldn't be that tight. Hand tight is more than enough to nip up the o-ring.

I have a strap type but it kept slipping and cant find the chain one.
Will get a new one tomorrow

Try putting some sandpaper/emery between the strap and the accumulator.

I have had three goes at getting mine off, lots of grunt, but no movement yet. Tomorrow is another day though

Is your system fully depressurised?

I am going to try sandpaper tomorrow and also rough up the strap a bit as it has been well used

Threaten it with a rusty spoon, that should rough it up

Came off first time but was FT

You can have another brownie point. Oddly enough, I do the same on my trolley jack handle to stop it rotating in its socket.

That should be a quick fix with some new vac pipe
